Wear Shower Slippers When Shampooing Hair

While many people know that wearing shower slippers is a good idea when using a public shower like one a gym they often forget about applying the same concept to showers at hotels. While hotel showers are presumably cleaned more often and more thoroughly than typical gym showers this isn't always the case.

When discussing gym showers there's a wide spectrum ranging from dingy high school locker rooms to luxurious five star resort spas. Needless to say the former gets sufficiently cleaned far less often than the latter. Sometimes though these assumptions are incorrect so it's always a good idea to play it safe.

Even if a nice "clean looking" shower is in a Ritz Carlton hotel it's possible that the person who used the shower immediately before you had a foot issue that for whatever reason you might be especially susceptible to catching. This nightmare scenario can be totally avoided by just wearing the appropriate footwear which for convenience and practicality sake generally means slippers of your choosing. The good news is that while this sort of footwear once had the style often associated with little old ladies in nursing homes the latest fashions give users numerous opportunities. One of the most common recent trends is to wear a pair that proudly supports your alma mater. Perhaps not surprisingly given the size of the college (over 40,000 students) University of Texas slippers are one of the top sellers and most frequent pieces of college themed shower footwear found around not just the state of Texas but the country as a whole.

Another good reason to pick up a pair of shower slippers if you're on the fence is because you can even use them at home. When wearing these rubber shoes in your home shower the intent usually has less to do with cleanliness and more to do with traction or grip. Not surprisingly showers can be slippery places and every year more people hurt themselves in the bathroom falling in the shower than in any other room in the house. Even more than the kitchen with all of the safety hazards that lurk around that area.

If you've never before given much thought to buying a pair of shower slippers today might be the day that you want to go ahead and get a pair. You can usually find them for around $20 or less and sometimes pairs literally last years.
